Answer in just a few words, you don't have to explain yourself unless you want to.
If you were a major league baseball player, what would your at-bat song be?
Ellie: Homeward Bound (because everyone knows that every time I get up to bat, I reach home and score a run. I'm just that good.)
Beth: Here We Go by Ozomalti. Here is their Dodgers (boo) song (Magnolia Soul) I would, of course, be a Padres player, so instead of the "Go Dodgers go" chants, they would be "Go Padres go" chants thrown in.
Jacquie: The Bitch is Back
Hmmmm. Interesting how Jacquie's choice needed no explaining...
ReplyDeleteI've actually thought about this. I am a huge baseball fan and in my mid-20's I actually had daydream/fantasies about being on a female baseball team (there are minor league women players).
ReplyDeleteThe best thing I've come up with is that Duran Duran song--Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand.
Just like that river twisting through a dusty land.
And when she shines she really shows you all she can
Oh Rio Rio dance across the Rio Grande.
But, see, since my name is Rita I always figured my fans would get confused. But, I still think it would be an awesome "at bat" song for a female ball player.
That's not to be confused with my life "theme" song, which is Its The End of the World As We Know It (and I Feel Fine) by REM.
WILD THING, but of course!
ReplyDeleteJust visitin' but I couldn't resist!!!
ReplyDeleteDexter Poindexter, HOT, HOT, HOT!!! lol!! :)
That would be "Sixteen Tons." You know, "another day over and deeper in debt"? Yeah, that's pretty much how I feel about it.
ReplyDeleteI really want to give our blog five stars a la A New Duck
ReplyDeletehttp://onenewduck.blogspot.com/
but now I can't find it.....
The theme song from "Indiana Jones" - you know it...sing along!

Actually, don't tell anyone - I hate baseball. But even shoeleather is edible with a great soundtrack.
Oh dear. Okay, I think that's the third tune I don't know. Is it me???
ReplyDeleteTrace Adkins
ReplyDeleteHey batter batter
Lizbeth got my first literal LOL - the duh track!
ReplyDeleteIn my head, however, it was the theme song from Dynatsy. Sorry, LB
I just tried to leave a comment here and got booted by blogger. Anyway, I'll try again.
ReplyDeleteBlogger put the star ratings on my blog by accident and then took them away. But I liked them, so I went and got them back. This is where they are:

Thank you, New Duck. Thank you.
ReplyDelete*I* tried to leave a couple of comments earlier, most notably on "Abbreviated"/"Buried in Legos"'s blog, and got booted TOO. Rat bastids.
And I am embarrassed and humbled to say that I know neither the theme to Indiana Jones *NOR* to "Dynatsy". Whatever "Dine-at-see" is.
You people are just ODD.
And I mean that in the NICEST possible way.
I may be odd, but looks aren't everything.
ReplyDeleteConsidering my issues with baseball, i.e. 100 mph balls hurling towards my cranium/chest and, well...that's it, I would have to say Thriller by Micheal Jackson. Not only does this great song convey my fear of the ball, but it would be really cool and appropriate to do the moonwalk and/or grab my crotch if I hit a homerun. Not many songs afford such freedom.
ReplyDeleteGood one, Autumn! And you're the only person I got to bully face-to-face into chiming in today. Thanks for dinner!!
ReplyDeleteand by the way, the missing shoes were in my car.

ReplyDeleteI guess I would be too distracted to swing if Trace was singing this on the ballfield.
Oh NOW I get it. "Hey Batter Batter" IS a song. And a dang good at-bat song at that. Sorry about my cluelessnes.....
ReplyDeleteAs Beth will surely tell you, Hey Batter Batter is also a song from High School Musical 2
ReplyDeleteHas anyone noticed that ever since John taught me how, I never comment without italics or bold or both ???
Well, why would you? Non-italic, non-bold? Yawwnnnnn. BOR-ing.
ReplyDelete*I* saw HSM2! And I loved that numbah the most.
