I myself have never heard of such a thing, but she assured me that she had it on good authority that not only were there such things, but that they actually worked.
My husband jumped right in, as he loves all things holiday. This was just his kind of nutty.
They rounded up the necessary household items and got to work.
You see, there is a large hole under that aluminum foil, which the unlucky guy will fall into when he greedily goes to grab the silver coins from the gold bag |
My daughter keenly pointed out last night that we had to leave the trap against something, so that the sneaky leprechaun couldn't just go to the other side to grab the gold bag.
So she set it outside on the deck against the wall. |
Just oranges and leaves. |
And this morning? Disappointed they were not. That mischievous trickster had been hard at work.
Wha? |
WTF? |
Crutches and chocolate coins?! |
Damn! No leprechaun, but he did leave some loot. (And what the hell would we do with a leprechaun anyway?) |
Needless to say, the trap was a smashing success, even if we didn't get to keep the miniature man. The girls were quite impressed.
Then they went to get their morning cereal....
Happy St. Patty's day, everybody!
That is so sweet! sounds like the start of another tradition--maybe you will start a national wave of 3/17 mischief.
ReplyDeleteLove, Nonnie
That T rocks!
ReplyDeleteLet's just say that I'm quite lame in the St Patty's day fun, but not as lame as my children, who refused to wear green today!
Must be the German in them...
T does excel in this arena. He'll have to get really creative next year...
