Walking On Air

How 'bout those Huskies???

We are Over The Moon, On Cloud 9, and Walking On Air around these parts this week.

And we have photos to prove it.

This may look like Mom and I are walking toward the beach on a regular old sidewalk last weekend, when UConn had merely made it into the Final Four, but don't believe everything your eyeballs see . . .

. . . that's not sand; that is air.

We feel like these guys this week.

It was just such an improbable run, the boys winning 5 Big East games in 5 days, and then taking 6 in a row in the NCAA tournament to win the Whole Enchilada. Only one team goes 6-0 in the tournament, people. This year it was our very own UConn Huskies.

And now, we here in Connecticut who have fiercely divided allegiances when it comes to baseball teams (Mets? Red Sox? Yankees?) and football teams (Giants? Patriots? Jets?) but are totally united in our love for our Huskies -- we here in Connecticut are walking on air.

We can't stop smiling, we can't stop grinning, we can't stop talking about it and marveling over it.

And we can't stop walking on air.

We won't stop walking on air.

And these guys may find themselves walking a few feet above the earth, too.

It really was an impressive run, but I would have preferred a more impressive final game.

    There's always next year...
