Mind if I just ramble for a while? No? Good. Thanks. I love long weekends, and this weekend was particularly spectacular in so many ways. Saw lots of good friends, had lots of good family time, saw two good movies (Silver Linings Playbook and Zero Dark Thirty, both so good), ate good food, drank good drinks. Good, good, all so good.
Some of the things I did not photograph this weekend include a monster truck rally in my neighborhood, an afternoon at the beach with Beth and her girls, and a circus themed fundraiser at a gay bar. You'll just have to take my word for it. It was good.
I am sick. Sick, sick, sick. It maddens and annoys me, and I am relentless in my determination not to be slowed down, not to miss anything, not to succumb. I took a sick day exactly one week ago, but I spent that morning at the gym and the afternoon doing housework. Somehow it did not make me feel better. I did not take a sick day today, I can't be that girl who takes Wednesdays off, that's lame. Everyone knows how much I want to go to the 9:30 TKB and 10:30 yoga double on Wednesdays.
Anyway, back to my rambling. Back to the good weekend. Everyone east of the rockies, cover your eyes: It was a gorgeously, gloriously sunny weekend. Beach weather! Bikinis! We San Diegans were slow to recover from the cold snap we endured last week, when things actually froze and we all layered up in our sad little fleeces and cotton outergarments to survive. We earned this weekend, and we appreciated it, despite the thinly veiled insults from our cold-weather friends and family. Good day, world.
Now wait a second here. I sent no insults, thinly veiled or not, when your cold snap ended. I hate when San Diego is cold and I love when it's warm and sunny, even if I'm not warm and sunny *in* it. So stay warm San Diego, okay? Good.
ReplyDeleteBeing sick sucks. But a an afternoon at the beach with Beth and her girls? Good. And a monster truck rally in your neighborhood? Um, I think good? And a circus themed fundraiser at a gay bar? Oh yes. Good Good Good. Now missing *that* makes me want to send a thinly veiled insult.
Have a Good day.

Um, Jacquie, get thee to a doctor....it's time. okay? I love you. mom
ReplyDeleteFeel better, Littlest! Jealous of your warm weather! xo
ReplyDeleteWell I'm not even sure this can be considered "thinly veiled": "This is pretty much the worst blog post ever. No bueno" followed by, "I'm just wanting to get something out there in case I have a bad morning and threaten to pull a Beth." Ha!
ReplyDeleteOf course, though, it isnt the worst blog post ever. Not at all. Not even close. I laughed out loud twice ;) But I do feel bad for your misery. Being sick does suck! But you will get better, and you won't miss much. And, definitely, definitely take tomorrow off. It'll be Thursday by then....
xoxo,
Beth
