Lovely, always lovely.
We get complacent about the expectation of perfect weather, the possibility that weather will have any sort of impact on on the plans we make is remote. Off the radar.
So happily, blissfully oblivious, we plan.
After all, our baby is turning fifteen, and we've been talking about a family trip to Knott's Berry Farm for years. This is the perfect time to go! We'll drive up on Friday night and spend all day Saturday in the park. Done.
Where in the midst of our big, blue, sunny sky is there room for an ominous and foreboding change?
Really, San Diego?
Really?
(pssst: don't tell the weather gods, but we're gonna play hooky on Monday)
*That* is one hell of a weekend vortex -- those damn weather gods -- but I can't help but think about the weatherman who wrote that all-caps warning -- you can just *feel* how excited he is. Weather! In San Diego!
ReplyDeleteMay I give you one piece of advice, my darlin' girl? Stay off the roads on Friday and Saturday. Because you're the one who taught me the time-honored maxim: when it rains in San Diego, people drive into eachother.
Have fun on Monday!
xoxoEllie
Yes, IT IS GOING TO RAIN. OMG! Hold on. Batten down. Stay inside.
ReplyDeleteIronically, I think it's going to affect my plans in the positive. I am supposed to be in three places at once between 11 AM and 2 PM on Sat: softball game, 5-year-old birthday party, and dropping/picking up from dance studio. But, I don't think there will be any softball game with all that widespread heavy precipitation.
xoxo,
