I tackled them yesterday.
I also tackled the back porch back door and doorsill. I like to feel useful, you know. And productive.
See how useful and productive I can be?
I scraped and sanded and primed (my friend Steven asked if I was having a makeover); next is a coat of white for the door and a coat of glossy black for the sill.

Mid-project, though, wet paintbrush in my hand, Mistah came home and said, "Well, things have changed."
Which can only mean one thing. Mistah wants to spend money. And wants me to sanction it.

I went with him downtown, though, to look at the new couch he had his eye on, and I had to admit: it was okay. He had for two years, afterall, been saying our couch was too short:
Okay, it's short. It's short! But it's comfy. And I love the color. And well, it was free.
But go downtown I did, and agree to it I did, and buy it we did.
We used to get our furniture from the side of the road and from tag sales. Now we go to the Sal-i-vation Army. Moving up in the world, clearly.
Onto the porch for a couple of hours it went, for some good UV-ray hours . . .
. . . and then into the living room. Where, you've got to admit, it looks exactly like the old couch, except it's longer . . .
. . . and can fit a fully-prostrate human male.

I just got four totally awesome chairs from the Skyline Chili warehouse! 10 bucks each. Now I will hit all the local Salvation Army stores to look for a table that goes with!
Nothing beats a couch nap, and for that you need one you can stretch out on. Bill looks mighty comfortable in that picture =)Good buy!
If you had just waited long enough, Mistah would have shrunk with old age, and fit perfectly on the old couch :)

The old couch was defintely too short. From the perspective of a fellow couch napper.

I did have to look twice to verify that there was, in fact, a difference between the before and after shots. Too bad there wasn't a shot of Mistah "lying down" on the "before" couch. That would have been a goodie.

Nice couch! Not to be the word police, but...Bill appears to be comfortably supine, not prostrate. :-)
You know, Lisa, that did not look right to me, but I thought it was because I use "prostate" and "prostrate" interchangeably, as I do with "antidote" and "anecdote" -- you know, to be funny (I know, I know: hilarious, right?). And then I can never get it straight when I try to say them right...
So thank you. Instead of amending the word, though, I think I'll add a additional photo of Mistah, face right down on that new couch of ours.....
