This post, coming as it does, between Ellie and Jacquie's first posts after the passing of their beloved dad, is a tough one. What does one say? What can one say? I know that kind words do help, at least a bit, and it's always comforting to know that you're loved by so many and that myriad healing thoughts and prayers are being directed your way, but still.
Still the grief remains.
Still you miss him.
However, you're both half him, and that DNA is yours to keep. That crossword-puzzle, happy-to-put-furniture-together gene (which I can scarcely comprehend, but admire) is your very own.
And all those handmade goodies that your dad created for you over the years? Well, they now become all the more precious.
I know mine has.
Like Ellie said in her post in May of 2008, "If you’ve got one of these, you’re in."
So yep, I'm feeling pretty grateful to be....

The grief and the grieving take a very long time. You have to be patient and just let yourself wade through it slowly.

Beth, your Doc Corey looks awesome in that drawer, and next to the bottle of Hoegaarden! My Dad would be so proud. xoxo
That's lovely, Beth! I know Ellie saw and loved it too, she can't get to a computer at the moment, so thanks from both of us for the kind words and the photo legacy of the Doc!
xoxo
