They like the flowers, too. They know what looks good on them.
They live a very busy and complicated life so we provide them with companionship and food and beauty and a place to lay their little monarch eggs. Then we sit back and watch them flit about.
In other summer-related things, here's how Big Cacti started his weekend . . .
. . . and here's how he ended it it:
I mean, right??
I forgot to include this one! I'm adding it a day later because it belongs with its friends. Because look at it.
Anyway. In other news . . .
I went for a walk with my friend Marie from one million years ago . . .
I mean, we didn't walk together; I walked, we talked, and I took photos along the way to show her . . .
Here's a house . . .
. . . here's a beautiful garden . . .
. . . here's the Thames River . . .
. . . here it is again . . .
. . . here are some docked boats.
Talking whilst walking is a really great way to catch up with an old friend; you should try it.
Marie and I had a virtual drink together at 4. Because in Happy Hour Land? 4 is the new 5.
And speaking of dear friends from yore . . .
Meanwhile, back at the ranch . . . let's look at more pretty flowers . . .
The beauty abounds.
And finally, and best of all . . .
. . . our lives have just taken a turn for the awesome.
To all my co-summertime people out there . . .
. . . Enjoy it. We've got ourselves a good one.

Lovely as always.
Man, you make New England look enticing! Just WoW to the houses and gardens and butterflies and flowers and the Thames and the John Deere!?! Oh and Big Cacti's bloom!
Summer is looking amazing around those parts. Glad you're taking full advantage. And 4 o'clock? Yes to that.

Beth
Oooh I love the spiderweb shot! So glad I showed up late to the pah-tay. That cactus of yours sure is hairy - is she lebanese? Thanks for the pretty butterflies and flowers and fields and friends, looks like a perfectly enjoyable summer.
