With apologies to my nephew, who was fast asleep when I came home from a walk to see this photo shoot had taken place, because he is just as big a fan of our big, big neighbor-dog, who is moving away this weekend . . . This is my
niece, and this is
Layla. And this is their
love-fest.
What can you
say, really? They're the perfect photogenic duo.
I miss that Little Girl. And I'll miss that Big Dog, too

I think that Layla needs a copy of that last one to take with her. Wow. She seems to know that little huggy girl (and her brother) will only be there for a day or two, and she's already sad about saying goodbye.
Great work, Mr. S.
Bye, Layla, happy new home, we will miss you.
Awwwww. Her paws are adorable. I still can't believe we didn't get any photos of Layla when she dropped in for our late night barbeque.
What a lovable lunk of a dog! Awww, those were great pictures. Jacquie's girl looked especially cute as well.
That is one big dog! Ellie, you were asking Freshhell about book titles for moms. My kids are older than hers (they're 12 and 15), and I've been talking about the books I've been reading in the past few years at http://necromancyneverpays.blogspot.com
Thanks for chiming in, Jeanne. Actually, I was just asking about book titles, period, because I have a neverending curosity about whats the peeps are reading.
Aww. Those pics are too sweet. I love big slobbery dogs. There is often an intense connection between animals and children.
I love big dogs. I tried to convince my husband that we NEEDED an English Mastiff, only to get a Cocker Spaniel. I guess life is about compromises right?
Great photos. Layla looks a lot like my dog. I heart big dogs!
Awwwwww... and all the stuff everyone else has already said
I heart little girls. And cats. Not so much big slobbery dogs.
I lived with one once, a big 'ol Great Pyrenees who liked to drink out of the toilet bowl. Let's just say sitting down to pee in the middle of the night would wake you right up. Y-U-C-K. (No offense to Layla or her owners.)
Sometimes the best big slobbery dogs are the ones that belong to your neighbors. Fun and cute and funny, and then no bath to give. Good lawd, what must he eat.
The forhead-touching and cheek-to-cheek pics need a Hallmark card, right the freak NOW.
Oh it's like having Clifford the Big Red Dog right next door. Or Marmaduke. You must be sad to be losing her for a neighbor – the big smoooch.
