Mistah and I were there recently with some of our lovely beach-loving friends, who do *not* include this boy and his dog, but they looked pretty cute together walking down the beach.
Ah yes, the quintessential Watch Hill lighthouse.
And the quintessential Watch Hill surf.
Part of our beloved bunch of beach-lovahs headed home (they did arrive at 10 a.m.) but a few of us got to stay for those magical afternoon hours, marked by that quintessential yellow light . . .
I was there . . .
. . . and Mr. OB was there . . .
. . . and Mistah was there.
Mistah also, apparently, took advantage of the time to practice his tai-chi moves . . .
. . . "Protect the heart" * . . .
. . . "hail the light" * . . .
. . . and "honor the sun." *
It's always worth it to stay at the beach late -- if you don't get there at 10 a.m. (which we didn't), and if you're not freezing (which we were) -- because that whole late afternoon yadda yadda is pretty spectacular.
The Ocean House? Bathing in glory.
Pocahontas? Or, um, Sacajawea? Basking in the light.
And you know how I feel about that whole Watching The Sun Set Over Boats and Water thing. Watch Hill provides it in aces (which is even better than providing it in spades). Just have a look:
Sigh. Watch Hill is so awesome it may qualify for at least seven of my favorite 6,977 places on Earth.

Lovely, as always! Love Mistah's happy cocktail tai-chi, he'd fit right in with the little old ladies in the park. Did you pull the magic number 6,977 out of your you-know-what, or is there a crazy list in one of your little black notebooks?

Oh my god, if Ellie has a list of 6977 favorite places in ther little black notebook, well, she may need to pick up a few more hours at the Dutch, lol.
Gorgeous shots! The "Watching The Sun Set Over Boats and Water thing" seris? Simply fabulous.
And yes, hooray for Mistah's cocktail tai-chi.
Happy weekend to all of you peeps.
