And it was just spectacular.
.
It was a gorgeous night, and the moon had all sorts of colors and rings and clouds and fancy accoutrement . . .
The whole neighborhood enjoyed it . . .
. . . during our roving neighborhood soiree.
On Sunday, when Jacquie and her kids were getting themselves all Grinchified . . .
. . . Mistah and I got ourselves Dibified -- Mr. Dibs himself cooked us blueberry pancakes in the morning. And since he's a firefighter, he helped us to unhook all the smoke detectors before he got started . . .
.
.
Sunday was a cold but sunny and beautiful day, and we headed up to My Girl Nancy's house . . .
. . . and got ourselves prepped up for a long walk.
Our men Mistah and Jonny joined us, and off we went.
Nancy and Jonny live on the edge of the woods, and it was just magical . . .
The icicles looked like upside-down mushrooms . . .
. . . and it was all completely dreamy.
We got home to find Zo-zo right in the doggie bed with her furry friend Callie. . .
. . . Aww. Look at Callie's paws. Aren't they adorable?
.
.
We spent the afternoon enjoying the fire and Zo-zo and my gigantic godson, and Nancy and I drank delicious bottles of wine.
Oh, we enjoyed the wine.
Mistah wasn't even drinking, and look how much he's enjoying the, um, not-drinking wine.
My godson is becoming a hormone-filled, deep-voiced, tall, manly-man. Of course he is. He's 14. But it still completely freaks me out.
Nancy tells her kids over and over that she's the coolest mom on the block.

Looks like a beautiful place to live/visit.
Hummm, GodMother needs to get GodSon a Wii, no? lol
That lake shot is spectacular. And the one with the houses makes it look like they're all on fire - spooky!
P.S. Love the new masthead!
Looks like a great time to me!Every time I used to talk to my nephews when their voices were changing, I would laugh my head off. It's soooo freaky.
My son already has my deep voice, so I can't even imagine what's going to happen when he starts squeaking. I'll probably laugh in his face every time he opens his mouth. The poor kid!
First of all, Ellie, you're welcome. It appears the perigee moon was just the very begining of a very fun winter weekend.
What I'd really like to know though, is whether Mr. Dibs ever make his way out west. Those flapjacks look superb.

Yes, that moonlight woke me the other night... what a fabulous moon it was! That doggie looks very happy with the ongoing celebration, and oh.... those poor poor children with no wii. I am crying for them... lol

Everybody on this blog seems to live a Hallmark life. You should totally get Hallmark to sponsor the blog and send you tons of money. Gorgeous photos as usual and all those smiling people made me smile (probably for the first time today). Thanks
Ellie, weren't you cold??
Chrissie, it's cold here in Connecticut, as you and I both know. And dark, but let's not go into that right now. I just put on layers upon layers and hope for the best.....
Ellie
Looked like a nice day. And you wounded me with your google accusation. And I only did it for a couple. It was late. Sue me.
that was amazing! The shots were lovely- and your family- Godson included- rocks.
(the moon WAS so cool.)
Well, they *are* my peeps, but they're not officially my family -- not by blood at least. Nancy's my best buddy from college. They're all gorgeous.
Ellie
The moon was really cool. I tried to take a picture, but I have a super cheapy camera and will consequently be stealing one of yours for my own personal use. You know like I snapped it myself.
Yeah sadly I'm going to blogjack you.
Lucky peeps who get my big sister for a visitor! I tried to look at that moon, even forced my kids to climb up to T's trecherous rooftop deck to gaze upong it at one point during the party, but it was overcast so we only saw the glow. It was a nice glow. As glows go.
