I Love A Parade

I know St. Patrick's Day is long over. But it was such a gorgeous day around these parts, and New London has the cutest parade ever, I just had to revisit it.

New London's St. Patrick's Day Parade is 17 minutes long.

No, not 17 miles . . .

17 minutes . . .

17 minutes of pure awesomeness . . .

17 minutes of pure joyousness.

17 minutes of green and shamrocks and leprechauns and blarney . . .

. . . led by those fabulous New London High School Marching Whalers . . .

. . . and watched by the many good citizens of New London.

Just look at the fun the good citizens of New London had that day:

The peeps loved the parade -- who doesn't love a parade? -- and came out in throngs.

And when the 17 minutes was over? That's when the fun really began.

We were going to take Meg to the parade here -- but it rained. So, instead we just gave her green beer.

Very cute, very festive - and in comparing to last year's crowd shots (of the kids), there seems to have been a significant increase in green adornment! Way to go, New London!

17 minutes is the perfect length for a parade, especially if you're going to the Durch afterwards....
