july

The kids and I are heading to Connecticut in late July, just like last year.

My last few days at work are super busy, when all I want to do is chat with mom and my sisters about who is coming and going when and where, just like last year.

I’m not planning to pack until it’s almost too late, I know we won’t need much, just like last year.

The kids are beside themselves with excitement about (finally) getting out of school and taking off almost immediately for one of their favorite places on earth, just like last year.

I can’t wait to be surrounded by my favorite people on earth, just like last year.

We’ll come together around an excruciating ritual, just like last year.

It will hurt us, it will heal us, it will slay us.

Just like last year.

Crying at the library is *not* cool.....

Oh Jacqueline. You are so eloquent. I cannot wait to see your gorgeous face in person.

And I continue to try to convince myself that next Saturday is going to be a *celebration* of an awesome life.

And I continue to try to convince myself whilst crying at the library.

I love you.

Well, I'm crying at my desk at summer camp, and that's not cool either. I can't wait to have all my girls and most of my grandkids around me. We'll celebrate dad's life in style.. I love you all. mom

oh, Coreys -- I'm sorry. But you have each other, and you certainly have style, AND know how to celebrate...

love you all,
