Fenway

Ah, Fenway.

All paths to Fenway begin at one place . . .

That's right. The HoJo's.

The HoJo's right across the street from Fenway Park.

First stop: Yawkey Way.

And then, well, there's nothing quite like that first glimpse of a baseball diamond, especially from killer seats . . .

. . . it is forever memorable.

It was a beautiful night, it was a great -- albeit heavily Red Sox* -- crowd . . .

(*they are really into the Red Sox in Boston, if you didn't know.)

And the peeps had their cameras out . . .

One . . .

. . . after another . . .

. . . after another.

The game that night, though, never ended . . .

No, that's not the first inning. That's the 11th inning.

The crowd thinned out . . .

. . . but the faithful -- and those who were staying at the HoJo's right across the street -- remained . . .

Top of the 14th . . .

In the bottom of the 15th, after July had turned to August, one of the red-soxed-boys got a hit with the bases loaded and that . . .

. . . was that.

We were the last ones in the park . . .

We waited until everyone else left . . .

We told the ushers to go on home . . .

. . . we'd lock up for them.

After all, we had the shortest commute of anybody.

Then we went home across the street and waited for the lights to go out in Fenway.

Envious! And you are so right - that feeling when you reach the top of the ramp and look out onto the field - that's breathtaking. Thanks for the share.

Love it, Ellie. How smart to set yourself up at the HoJos across the street! Brilliant, you two are!

Great photos! Made me want to get on down to Petco Park and cheer on the Pads ;)

love! that looks like so much fun, how cool to be right there in the middle of baseball land and the last ones to leave.

When the Tigers are not playing, I listen to Red Sox game on the radio. I have been to Fenway for a Sox/Tigers game, many, many years ago. We were in left field, and after six innings looking into the sun, my eyes swelled shut! So, I went with my friend's husband, and we watched from a bar around the corner! Well, I listened. I couldn't see anything for the rest of the day.
