The Field Frolic

On Friday we found ourselves the proud owners of what was formerly Finnegans' Field.

See that house way back there in the background? That's the back of our house . . .

. . . and this is our new backyard.

And THIS . . .

. . . is -- finally -- our tree.

You know our tree, right?

Well now we can frolic under it with abandon. Because it's ours.

And if it rains, like it did on Friday . . .

. . . well, no worries because that big tree keeps all Frolickers warm and dry.

And the view from under there is pretty great, too.

We had several Frolickers join in on the Friday Field Frolic Fun . . . The Dibbs . . .

. . . and the Freibs . . .

(that's short for FriendNeighbors and is difficult to spell) . . .

. . . the lovely Jennie . . .

. . . and the lovely Laura . . .

. . . but, mostly, we all only had eyeballs for this nugget:

Pretty cute, right?

Come on over and frolic any time you like, kiddo.

We will be frolicking.

Pretty awesome turn of events...I see an expanded garden in that frolic spot so you can send peppers and basil to your garden challenged sister (tomatoes don't ship well). Frolic away and maybe Mother Nature will be so moved as to send the sun and warmer weather!

Do tell! Details please? You purchased another adjacent lot? Not that is big news!! Congrats.

You all look so happy in your rain gear under that gorgeous tree. I am especially covetous of the red cowboy boots. I need me a pair of those!!

Love the field! Love the tree! Love all the artistic pops of RED. I can't wait to frolic there this summer. Are you going to take the fence down? Tell us everything.

You know, I struggled over what photos to post because we *have* taken parts of the fence down this weekend, since Friday afternoon, but I figured I would focus only on The Friday Field Frolic.

The answer is Yes. Yes, we are taking that back fence down. Except for the part where it has grown through the tree.

And the red! Don't you love? Mom gave me that layer, and it's *lined*, which is great for a freezing Connecticut rainstorm in May, sigh.

Jennie's brally? I know, right?

And Little Eva? She got those boots from Greta. And when you say to her "Cowboy Boots!" she replies, "Cow Boots!"

And then you die of love.

Amazing! I am so happy for you two. Can't wait to roam it with you next month.
(If I were a camper, I'd pitch my tent there during my upcoming visit. But, I'm not a camper. And I don't have a tent. )
