Decked

Friday was a Big Day around these parts. Mistah bought our Christmas tree (and I didn't have to tree shop!) and Mom and Dad came by for a visit.

And since Mom is the Queen of the Corey Girls, she ordered Bill around. That's what Corey Girls do, after all. We order our men around.

It's good to be Queen.

"Bill get the tree and put it inside!"

"Mom, you're here. We're entertaining you now. Ellie and I will do it later."

"Bill, get the tree and put it in the stand!"

I'm so glad Mom was here. Because the tree? Made it right into the stand.

And Mom helped me unfurl it from its condom sheath.

And gave us an ornament. A priceless heirloom. That she got at an ornament exchange that she didn't like. But we love it.

And it goes great with our fabulous new Ledgie ornament.

Having Mom and Dad around for an unexpected visit is about the best thing in the world.

They are, as I reported to my sisters after the fact, so great and so cool and so festive. I missed them terribly the second they walked out the door.

But do not call them cute. Mom hates that.

Anyway, after they left we did finish the trimming of the tree . . .

. . . incorporating all our old trusty traditions.

It's resplendent.

The next morning I unraveled yards of lights and festooned the porch and deck.

Miles of lights.

And now?

Our Halls? Are Decked.

with the weekend snow now disappearing and lots of mush left behind, the pictures put me back in the Christmas swing...
Thanks!

I tricked Ryan into getting the tree by himself saying it was much too cold to take the baby outside.

Sucker.

Your parents are beyond cute -- your Dad is very handsome and your mom is a beauty. I missed the usual array of beverages though. I only spotted one in the entire montage.

Oh, XUP. Ye of little faith. Just because you can only see the chalice-like vodka glass in one photo does not mean 3 other glasses weren't lurking just beyond the lens of the camera..... Because they were, they were.

Looks great, as do YOU, my sweet! Your hair is divine, and you look about 12 years old. Way too young to drink. I have not participated in the tree procurement in years, they all look the same once decked.

Ho Ho Ho-bag!

I know -- Mistah used to love bringing you home a tree from the pay-atch. And you loved not having to get it!

And thank you. It was a great Jennie-'do. Was being the operative word here.

Nice decking of your halls, but where's the bows of holly?

Perhaps they are in the vodka chalice's that are just out of view?

It all looks fabulous, Ellie! Decked and bedazzeled and displayed. I almost think you really do (secretly) like this time of year...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your Blog!!!! What a treat to read your and your sister's words, and to SEE YOU and BILL and your MOM and DAD and your HOME!!!! You're as GORGEOUS as ever, DOLL!!!!!! Apparently I have lots of Blog reading to catch up on and, as soon as Amanda comes downstairs I will ask her, again, how to put your Blog address into my "Favorites," which is empty being that I am somewhat cyber-illiterate...Enjoy your decked halls and have a very Merry Christmas!

XOXO
