Not On A Stick

Our New Year's Day groaning board may not have featured foodstuff on a stick -- sigh, unfortunately -- but we did have not only one:

 but two . . .

. . . cool and awesome retro gas stoves . . .

. . . oh, that Mr. Dibble.

He and his lovely innamorata Elizabeth hosted all the crazy freaks who swam at Watch Hill on New Year's Day, as well as those of us who kept our cool heads, and drank champagne on the beach instead.

And we had ourselves a Lovely Time.

Mistah Schleckah sometimes forgets women of a certain droopy-eyed age -- like me -- like far-aways*. Our young girl Jennie, though? Gorge.

*as opposed to close-ups. I just invented that. Awesome, right?

We were lucky enough to have the blue-eyed brigade with us that day.

And we had Mr. Dibble's adorable niece . . .

. . . and adorable nephew kicking some butt on the bowling machine.

The so-called adults, in the meantime, were *very* busy snacking and drinking . . .

. . . and applauding ourselves. Yay us!

. . .  while the wee folk just kept on bowling . . .

Gutter Ball!

It was *such* a lovely day, and we're so thankful we keep getting invited back, despite our behavior.

Merry New Year!

Looks like a fabulous day, and how cool is their house? Two retro stoves and a bowling game???

Almost as great as Elizabeth's shirt -- love that shirt!

love you too, E

love those ovens, I want one!

I think this might be the first ever Ellie post that is entirely 100% indoors.. not even a window to the outside! Winter is weird.

Okay wait, I take it back. There's a kitchen window.. and either a window or a glass front cabinet behind the couch. Incidentally, when I enlarged the busy snacking photo to check for windows, I couldn't help but notice that the guy next to you appears to be sleeping. Or dead.

That's a picture window out into the firefighters pouring diesel fuel onto the fire.......

And Jacquie, I took Gary's pulse. He was *totally* not dead. Just very very tiyed.
