Baby, it's cold outside. |
We're intrepid New Englanders, though; there are things we can do to remain warm and toasty despite the frigid temps.
We can turn the heat up.....
They invited this new kind of thermostat so now we can set the heat to go on before we get up in the morning.
What's that you say? They invented that years ago? Well, someone* really should have told me about that sooner.
(*Someone other than Mistah.)
We can wear wool.....
I had to cut my head off because I have an embarrassing case of Hat Hair* this week.
*Everybody has an embarrassing case of Hat Hair this week.
We can clad our tootsies-toes in wool, too.
This is where I spend my evenings.
We can roast veggies.....
The lefties are going to make some serious-ass hash browns on Sunday morning..... |
Anything involving the Vulcan is a good idea because our little friend warms the house right up.
We can make soup*.....
(*See note on the Vulcan, above.)
Getting there..... |
Yum. |
We can eat lots of garlic*.....
*I invented that. But garlic works for everything else;
why wouldn't it work for this?
why wouldn't it work for this?
Now Minnesota? That's cold. |
Hello gorgeous.

Your nest makes me jealous...What a cozy blog, warmed me right up!
I can't find any positives about this deep freeze - me no like it. Good for you Ellie. love, mom
Mmmmmm - that soup!
It was seriously cold here in Minneapolis the last few days, but I took a few vacation days and spent them under the electric blanket, reading with the dog. Problem solved!
Am I the only one who thinks that soup looks slightly ... um... unappetizing?
Your nest, though? I so want to curl up.
Stay warm, sister. love you
xo
Jacquie
Me? You know what I want to do? I want to turn that thermostat up for you!! 62? That's too cold, woman, even though that sweater and those socks do look divine. (I am such a huge fan of wool socks!) C'mom, bump it up to 66 for me, wouldja?
I think the soup looks like chili, and quite fortifying. We should make Jacquie eat some of that while drinking an Eve's Black Heart. That would warm her right up. Hee hee.
Stay warm your intrepid least coasters.
xoxo,
Beth
you, you intrepid least coasters ;)
Really? Unappetizing? Man, that soup is good. Black bean, baby. The best.
And Beth? 62º in this house feels like 66º -- tight as a drum in here, with all the new(ish) double-paned windows. Sucks if we forget and leave the gas on though. Whoopsie!
