It’s a loveseat.
We got it from the Lovely Library Lady in New London.
So now we have an oversized chair, and an undersized couch.
The world’s most gigantic chair, and its wee-est sofa.
A perfect set.
Coffee table? We don’t need no stinkin’ coffee table.
It’s a behemoth.
We chipped the wall in 4 places going up the stairs, and couldn’t get it around the corners into the bedroom we wanted.
But that’s not important right now.

But that’s not important right now.
What IS important, is that it’s got claw feet.
Just like our our tub.
And, most significantly, just like Jacquie’s beloved pooch Porgie.

My nephew is famous for saying, “Aunt Ellie, look at Porgie’s claws. Aren’t they adorable?” Oh, they’re adorable. No one had more adorable claws than Porgie, godresthersoul.

Aw, poor Porgie, godresthersoul.
Nice scores, Ellie. I want you to know that I'm taking a clue from you and Mistah Schleckah and have started rounding up all sorts of new, hand-me-down furniture. It's fun. And it fits my budget.
Porgie's a gooooood doooooooog. What a fun treat to see those this morning! And what spectacular timing to remind us of the good dog we had, as we puppy shop this very weekend!!
LOVE the paws on that dresser, WOW.
I want that dresser so much I would come and steal it right now.
Seriously bad-ass.
I so wish I had the patience to track down yard sales... and haggle... and unload my purchases... and clean them to my satisfaction.
Um, y'know what? Nevermind. I'll just live vicariously through more reasonable people.
alex, your comment triggered me to remember a verse of a song I posted recently (Clone, by Leo Kottke and Mike Gordon), in which Kottke [or Gordon?] is singing about his clone:
He's not just a mirage, a reflection or an elf.
He makes it so I can live
vicariously through myself.
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. I just want to squish down into that oversized chair and pretend I'm LITTLE !!!
I'm just glad that Bill finally has a couch. Even if it is little....
P.S. Are the cranes still keeping you up at night? Maybe you should have a few glasses of wine and sleep on the couch.
Oh, they're keeping me up alright. The problem is I have several too many glasses of wine at night, then go to sleep, then get awakened by them at 5, then can't get back to sleep, when, really, what I need is MORE sleep.
Oh, and Dana? You'll feel downright Liliputian in that chofa...
