Heigh-ho, heigh-ho

Well, today's the day. I'm sitting here in my office. It is my first day back in months, since Tuesday, May 26th to be exact.

It's strange to be here. There are 5577 emails in my inbox. It's going to be a long day. Of work. And of not seeing my baby girl. I've known all along this day was coming, but I don't have to like it, right?

Sitting here in my well worn chair, staring at my dual monitors has thus far only inspired a haiku:

Shining from above
severe, uncompromising
glowing florescent

at least your first day is inspiring some poetry :)
I'm home with the 3rd child sick in 3 weeks...we're on a roll with getting a fever on Monday so I say,
"Enjoy yourself!"
then go home and give your sweet baby a kiss from me (no germs transmitted over the internet)

Aw, poopie. Sorry you're back in the big house. Good luck, I hope it goes by fast and that you find yourself back home with your doll-baby before you know it. I'm still driving around with a big bag of big girl clothes for you guys... one of these days we'll find time to get together!

Oh, this is just the worst thing I've ever heard. Already? Ach.

I have spent many an hour in that office of yours, and I can testify that it is the opposite of holding a newborn baby girl in your arms.

Hang in there, Beth. Corragio.

Now go home.

That was quick!! They sure don't give you much maternity leave down yonder, do they? Even our year off isn't enough most of the time.
