The Good Captain

Summertime!

After all that consternation during winter -- and fall and spring -- Summer came, as it's supposed to, on Memorial Day.

And to welcome our favorite season, this wondrous time of warmth and sun, we recently returned to our favorite summer place . . .

Captain Scott's Lobster Dock

Have you met The Good Captain?

Here he is.

The day we went -- our first visit of the season -- it was crowded. See that building in the background? That's Captain Scott's. See all those cars in the foreground? Those are eager and excited customers waiting for a chance to eat scallop bisque and steamers and hot lobster rolls.

The band was a-playing . . .

. . . oh, they're a good, good band . . .

. . . and I was a-texting.

. . . but not exclusively.

One of the things I love about the Good Captain's Place is it is beloved by all ages . . .

. . . plus, it can be very Keys-like . . .

. . . and the boats? Well, another best thing about Captain Scott's is the boats hanging out, with the fisherpeeps coming and going all the day, which fazes the boats not all all.

Ah, the boats . . .

. . . they're especially cool when photographed through Mistah's sunglasses lenses.

Oh! And the duckies!

Little duckies all in a row . . .

. . . hmmm . . . reminds me of something . . .

. . . and there is always the cool, calming, awesome, fabulousness of New London in the distance.

Another great thing about The Good Captain's Place? One can stay and stay and stay . . .

. . . and no one will ever kick you out for staying and staying and staying into the night . . .

. . . well at least, not yet.

To our good and glorious Captain, we thank you. And we wish you Happy Summer. And we'll see your fine self on Saturday.

Now start making that bisque.

Me. too.

I definitely have a long-distance crush on the Captain.

I hope you do the right thing and visit him very, very often, E.

Oh, I've met the Captain. I love that guy. My girl pulled a tooth out of her head there one time. And we had that mad photo session there last year, after all the sadness. I could eat about 40 lobster rolls right now. With a side of steamers. Can't wait to get there this summer!

I expect to soon see this post up on your New London gig, ya?
