This past weekend was the 34th annual running of the
Milford Oyster Festival.
The headliner? The one, the only:

You know, of . . .

-- um, that would be
Slow Ride -- fame.
.

The band got itself ready . . .

. . . while the rest of Milford carried on, enjoying its festering self.

The black-eyed susans bloomed spontaneously . . .

. . . and the
River Flip-Flop roared mightily.

The vendors were out in full force, looking like
something out of
Nogales.
.
All our peeps gathered on the Green on a gorgeous day. Not the Green.
Fowler Field. There's me
making out with saying hi to Buzzie's friend Tyler.
(Um Jennie? My hair needs a little love? Hello?) There's MB and Robin and Mike and Lisa, too.

It was a day when MB's world collided. Here's MB's high school friend Buzzie . . .

. . . And her NYC friend Robin.

Here's the
back of Buzzy and Robin. And MB and me.

Here's MB's Mark and the newlywed Jen.

And here's MB's
other boyfriend, Mr. Belly Man.

Cool Shirt Guy . . .

Oh, the peeps were out in full force that day . . .

There's
Ruff . . .

Oh. And of course.
Psycho Man. Notice the
buzzard tatt on his right neck.

Jerry was in the house . . .

Foghat is a band for
every generation.

The ubiquitous New England lobster shirt . . .

And the ubiquitous New England ferris wheel . . .

It's a treat to have Mistah Schleckah along, taking
arteestic photos . . .

Z-Man showed up . . .

And, apparently, was
hilarious.
.
Foghat started playing, loudly, and all of a sudden,
It started pouring.
.
Fog! Hat! Fog! Hat!

They just carried on, like any self-respecting 80's iconic band would.

The peeps, they
loooove the Foghat.
During the downpour,
MB and a few friends walked home.
Mark and a few friends walked to the bars. But
Mistah Schleckah and I, and
Buzzie and
Tyler, we stayed right where we were, in
Foghat Nation.
And then:

The sun popped back out. And it became beautiful again.

I talked Buzzie's ear off Buzzie and I yakked.

It was a day of Buzzie Love.
And then, well, then it was six o'clock. And you know what
that means in Milford.
"Keep moving, folks."

We somehow survived the sweep. We were the last friends there. Just the
Z-Man and some litter and
Me, talking on the phone to our friend
Bruce, on Buzzy's
calculator blackberry.
.
We went home to Mark's and built a fire and had a
Slow Ride.
We Took It Easy.

Come on! Did anyone turn up with a Guitar Hero Guitar?????
That would have been totally awesome.
Milford and Foghat -- it doesn't get much better than that, does it, Ellie?
I love the photo of the Z-Man, some litter, and you after the big sweep.
What a fun day! Mar's boyfriend belly man is H-O-T. Ellie, I just wish you would learn to have a good time and smile every once in a while!
All that and beer too? Where's my GPS!!
That looks like fun! I'm glad Psycho Man was there. It's good to see Jerry's back from the land of the dead.
Wow, foghat. That takes me back. I don't see them on the tour schedule for around here though. You didn't happen to buy one of those hats that reads, 'Fog' while you were there did you? My parents never could figure out that hat.
I can't help wondering who Psychoman's target audience is.
The Kansas State fair is coming up. Nothing makes me happier then going to one of the parks and people watching. The freaks come out in droves.
That little shindig looked awesome.
And FOGHAT?? Oh yeeeeaaah, "Slow Ride" is probably one of my most favorite songs of all time.
I so kicked ass on it with Guitar Hero!
Glad ya'll had a good time!
I have to tell you people. I have no tv. I have no wii. I have no Guitar Hero. what I *DO* have is the experience of having seen Foghat. Live. In person. Well, apparently they're all dead except the drummer. So what I *DO* have is having seen the Foghat DRUMMER. Live. In person.
I know!
Foghat. Drummer. Live. In person. Who needs a stinkin' TV? With enough beer, a live concert can look just like TV, I always say. Or, rather, someone has said. I think it was Walter Cronkite. Or it may have been Joan Baez. Or Steve Ray Vaughn. And it may have been tequila, not beer. And they could have been talking about movies, not TV.
Ha! You peeps are funny.
And I must say. *I* never brought up beer. Those water bottles were full of margaritas, thank you very much.
Ellie
Just popped over from Bossy, trying to send you a link for some Office/School supply HAHA's that I know you would enjoy, but can't locate your email address?!?!?!

I once got to see Steppenwolf. I can only imagine that Foghat would have been better and dancing in the rain to boot? I love the picture commentary! You're so comical.
